From April 29, 2023, people taking international flights to China can replace nucleic acid testing with antigen self-test within 48 hours before boarding, and airlines will no longer check the test certificate before boarding. In order to make preparations for travelers easier, the embassy in Japan has updated the “Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control for Travelers to China” (attached). Please read carefully and follow the instructions so as not to affect the itinerary.
Epidemic Prevention and Control Guidelines for Travelers to China
Remote testing: Use an antigen kit or nucleic acid test within 48 hours before boarding the plane. Only those with negative results can come to China. Those with positive results should turn negative and come back to China.
Customs declaration: After obtaining a negative test result, fill in the “People’s Republic of China Exit/Entry Service” through the WeChat mini-program “Customs Passenger Fingertip Service”, the Palm Customs APP or the web version (https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn) Health Declaration Card" to declare.
Airlines do not need to check the antigen test results and nucleic acid test certificates before boarding.
On-board epidemic prevention: Please strictly abide by the airline’s epidemic prevention requirements, take personal protection and reduce the risk of infection.
Entry quarantine: After arriving at the port, complete the necessary customs clearance procedures with the customs health declaration code. Those who have a normal health declaration and no abnormality in the routine quarantine at the port can enter the social area. Customs will conduct sampling inspections in a certain proportion. Persons with abnormal health declarations or symptoms such as fever need to cooperate with the customs in epidemiological investigations, medical investigations, etc., and accept relevant infectious disease sampling and testing.
Local epidemic prevention: After entering the country, passengers should strictly abide by the local epidemic prevention and control requirements.
